Smile CDR 2026.02.R01

Security
  • Two new permissions have been added allowing fine-grained authorization for Patient- and Group-level Bulk Exports, restricting them to specific Patients or Groups via a search expression (i.e. creating attribution lists)
  • New "consent purpose" and "actor" elements have been added to user session objects, and can be used to inform masking and other consent decisions. (Ask Maciej about possible use cases in CMS for this)
Documentation
  • A new maturity model has been introduced. Experimental is now EAP, and Trial is now LMA.
RTE
  • Support for Snowflake database has been added to the RTE module
Grow Bigger
  • Bulk Patch and Bulk Patch with History Rewrite are now supported with MegaScale
  • Bulk Export is now supported with MegaScale
Go Faster
  • External offload storage now uses a configurable connection pool for better performance (also HAPI)
Tread Lightly
  • The $expunge operation can now clean up externalized resource bodies (also HAPI)
Tokenization
  • A new normalization mode CODE allows for tokenization and proper searching of primitive code elements with a required binding and an implied CodeSystem URL
  • New normalization modes allow ContactPoint and date elements to be correctly tokenized and searched
  • The FHIR PATCH operation is now supported when tokenization is enabled
